“Be a STAR” – Be a Service Team with Aspiration and Responsibility

I have been a Rotaractor from Rotaract Year 2007/08 and it will be my 5th year in Rotaract in the coming year. Thus, I have made up my mind to take up the challenging post to be the President of Rotaract Club of Victoria this year. With the great support of my STAR board members with different background, including University-based Rotaract Clubs, RYLA, active member, I believe we could contribute more to the community for a better world.

Our theme is year is to “Be a STAR”. Does it mean we want to be artists? Does it mean we want to be famous? Of course NOT! Instead, we aim to be a service team with aspiration and responsibility as we never forget the Rotaract motto – “Fellowship through Service” and slogan – “To Serve, To Learn, To Lead”. Whenever and whatever we do, we must uphold this spirit to do the best. Apart from that, I do hope that my board members could develop themselves in Rotaract to be a shining person like a star after this year!

Our club is so grateful to have so much support from Rotarians, Rotaractors, as well as other supporting parties throughout the years, especially when I met so many Past Presidents during different occasions. I promise our team will continue our work and contribute to the society.

Let’s join hand in hand to make the world better!

Thank you!

Yours in Rotaract,
Jay Leung
President
